Wisconsin at Michigan College Football Betting

The No. 9 Wisconsin Badgers will be looking for their first win in the Big House in 14 years when they head to Ann Arbor to take on the Michigan Wolverines. This will be the first time in nearly 50 years that the Badgers are ranked and Michigan isn’t, which may be why the odds makers at Bookmaker have listed Wisconsin as the 6-point favorites with the total posted at 42.

This year Wisconsin will become the first team to open Big Ten action by playing Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State in consecutive weeks, but the good news for Badger fans is that this isn’t the same Wolverines team that they are used to facing.

Michigan is the only team in the Big Ten with two losses as they sit at 1-2. In week one the Wolverines lost a tough one to Utah, 25-23 at home and were stung with a 35-17 beating at Notre Dame before being off last week.

First year head coach Rich Rodriquez is seeing his team struggle through some growing pains as he moves them from more of a smash-mouth style to his spread offense. Quarterback Steven Threet is struggling to adjust, completing just 54% of his passes. Things haven’t gotten much better when Nick Sheridan is under center as he has thrown three interceptions in just 29 attempts.

The Wolverines are also hoping that the team can repeat last year’s success when they started out with two losses to open the season to finish out at 9-4. Michigan also has the 12th best run defense in the nation, and with Wisconsin relying so heavily on their ground game there is a chance the unit can keep the team in the game.

Michigan has done a good job taking care of Wisconsin when they came to Michigan Stadium, holding the Badgers winless here since 1994 and the Wolverines have lost only six times in the 32 games played between the two teams in Ann Arbor. If you think that success will continue, bet Michigan +6 at Bookmaker and get a 20% cash signup bonus.

Wisconsin is going to find out what they are made out of real quick with their tough early season schedule. After taking on Michigan, the Badgers get to face two Top 15 teams in Ohio State and Penn State.

However, the tough defense and solid rushing attack of Wisconsin has paved the way for a top 10 ranking of their own. The Badgers also get to come off a bye week before starting this key three game stretch, having squeaked out a 13-10 win over Fresno State a couple of weeks ago in what was a very physical battle.

Quarterback Allan Evridge is doing a good job of managing the team and the game, completing over 60% of his throws for three touchdowns to only one interception this season. The strength of the team though is the ground game, and running back PJ Hill. Hill had 122 rushing yards against the Bulldogs and has 379 on the season. The team has gained 716 yards on the ground behind a powerful offensive line.

Defensively the Badgers aren’t too bad either, holding Fresno State to their lowest point total in a home game in more than 20 yards. The defense is very physical and aggressive. The linebackers are very active, led by DeAndre Levy, who had four tackles for loss and a pick against the Bulldogs. If you think Wisconsin will cover the -6 betting line then bet the game quickly and easily at Bookmaker, where the pros play!
