World Series Odds Updated Before Championship Series

The odds to win the World Series have been updated for all teams as they head into their Championship Series. It’s down to the Boston Red Sox versus the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League while the National League showdown will feature the LA Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies.

Let’s take a look at some of the different MLB odds that are posted before each series gets started.

Who will win the American League Pennant?
Boston Red Sox -140
Tampa Bay Rays +110

It seems like the Rays haven’t been getting any love all year long, and now are the underdogs to the Red Sox despite having the home field advantage. Also, which team is the Wild Card here and which team won the American League East? I think you can probably tell that we are favoring the young Rays over the defending champs with this bet.

Who will win the National League Pennant?
LA Dodgers -110
Philadelphia Phillies -120

This one seems pretty even, but if you are looking to find an edge we would recommend taking the team with the home field advantage. Even if the Dodgers can sneak one of the first two games out, it’ll be tough for them to hold serve when they return to LA.

Odds to win the World Series:
Boston Red Sox +175
Tampa Bay Rays +225
Philadelphia Phillies +300
LA Dodgers +300

It seems that the American League is getting all of the love from odds makers. The real value here would be if you feel like the National League can take home the title.

You can also bet on which teams will square off in the World Series:
Dodgers v. Red Sox +200
Dodgers v. Rays +275
Phillies v. Red Sox +175
Phillies v. Rays +250

Again, you’ll see each of the odds skewed towards a Red Sox/Phillies matchup. I think any of the four matchups would offer an intriguing series, but the personally woudl be most interested in seeing the Red Sox/Dodgers. There is just something about those two franchises that I feel like would generate the best ratings and give for the best overall entertainment value.
