New York Yankees at Toronto Blue Jays MLB Odds
Written September 25, 2008 by Jay Todd
Although the Yankees seem to be playing their best baseball as of late, look for Toronto to avoid the home sweep behind ace Roy Halladay. New York has not swept a series at Toronto since the 2003 season, so don’t expect them to do it here on September 25th. The baseball betting line on this game shows Toronto at -175 over New York.

Once again, Roy Halladay has been solid on the season. It is his final start of the season and is 1 win shy of 20, so look for him to be focused and on top of his game to reach the 20-win plateau. Halladay is 4-1 against the Yankees this season and has gone at least 7 innings in 4 of those 5 starts, thus look for him to go deep into the game. He is also 7-1 lifetime against the Yankees and home with an ERA below 3. Look for much of the same from Halladay this time around.
Injury prone Carl Pavano takes the ball for the Yankees. Although he has picked up some wins, that is due in large part to heavy run support from his teammates. Do not expect that against a pitcher like Halladay. Chances are Pavano won’t pitch over 5 innings, as a result look for Toronto to take advantage of seeing multiple pitchers.
Look for Roy Halladay to be on top of his game and pick up his 20th win of the season. Jay Todd’s recommendation is to play the Blue Jays over the Yankees.
